ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

This certification has no specific admission requirements. Candidates for the qualification must, however, be at least eighteen years old, possess at least twelve years of formal education, or the equivalent, and speak English fluently.

PACKAGING RULES

The students enrolled in ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology, units of competency as listed below:

Total number of units = 20 

6 core units  plus

14 elective units , of which:

  • at least 10 units must be selected from the elective units listed below
  • up to 4 units may be selected from the remaining listed elective units or from this or any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course where the units are packaged in an Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Level 4, 5 or 6 qualification.

Elective units must not replicate the results of another unit selected for the qualification, be pertinent to the work environment and the qualification, preserve the integrity of the AQF alignment, and offer a legitimate, industry-supported vocational outcome.

Duplicate units from the ICT Information and Communications Technology Training Package cannot be chosen from other Training Packages or approved courses.

The following specializations can be added to the qualification when appropriate using the optional unit selection guidelines outlined in the packing rules above. At the end of qualifying, specific guidelines are provided for obtaining a specialization.
